OET Specification for Health Professionals

Since its establishment in the late 1980s, OET has been instrumental in determining the eligibility of professionals in various healthcare fields. These include Dentistry, Dietetics, Medicine, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Optometry, Pharmacy, Veterinary Science, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Radiography, and Speech Pathology.

OET Delivery Modes

OET exams are delivered in two modes:

OET on Paper at a Test Venue and OET on Computer at a Test Venue.

Requirements for the OET Exam

To register for the OET Exam, you will need a valid email account.
You must bring a valid identification document on the test day for verification purposes.
If you are taking the OET exam at a physical test venue using the paper-based format, you will be required to upload a photo during the booking process that meets OET requirements.
For those opting for the computer-based OET test, you will need to upload a photo for identification purposes during booking.
The OET fees can be paid during the online booking process. When registering, you have the option to book all four tests (Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing) simultaneously.

How to Apply for the OET Exam

Visit the official OET website.
Click “Book” and choose your exam mode (computer or paper).
Enter your email, preferred name, and country.
Fill in personal details: gender, date of birth, first language, and legal name (matching ID).
Complete additional information and payment details.
Review and submit your application.
Receive confirmation and instructions via email.
Prepare for the exam using available resources.
Attend the exam on the scheduled date with the required ID. Await your results within the specified timeframe.

IDs Accepted by OET

Passport:
Must display the candidate’s date of birth, full name, expiry date, and photograph.
National Government-Issued ID:
Any government-issued identification with the candidate’s photograph, full name, and date of birth.

Exam Application Process

Specify OET on the computer, choose the month, and select the test option (medicine or nursing).
Choose a location and find test centers.
Upload ID proof and process payment (Visa and MasterCard accepted).
